Pathan brothers will not quit BCA

VADODARA: When Baroda Ranji team prepares to salvage its pride this season, it will have the support of batting firepower of Yusuf Pathan and bowling experience of Irfan Pathan. The Pathan brothers, who were thinking of shifting to some other cricket association, have decided to stay back with the Baroda Cricket Association (BCA). The duo has ironed out its differences with the association. 

Sources in BCA said Irfan and Yusuf met BCA president and Indian Premier League (IPL) chairman, Chirayu Amin some days ago to discuss the issues they had. The meeting was fruitful as the Pathans agreed to stay back with the association. "The meeting between Amin and Pathan brothers was due for quite some time. But, they were not able to meet as Amin was busy with his new job as IPL chairman and the Pathans too were out of town. The meeting was finally arranged some days ago," said sources.

VADODARA: From the corridors of M S University, this budding model and alumnus is now raring to make it to Paris the fashion capital of the world to be part of prestigious fashion week. Having made it to the top 11 male model finalists for India's International Face a model hunt hosted by Zoom TV, Vishwanathpratap Singh is now hoping to emerge as the winner. 

Around 4,500 contestants participated in the regional rounds in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkatta, Chandigarh, Pune and Bangalore. The selected final 11 will now be groomed by Mickey Mehta, Jesse Randhawa, Jamna Pai, Lubhna Adam, Rukhsana Eisa, Subi Samuel and Hakim Alim. The event is an opportunity for all fashion aspirants to be recognised at an international platform. One male and one female talent will be groomed for participation in two of the most prestigious fashion weeks in Paris and Milan. 

 

 
Cops arrest youths for trying to hang Kasab's effigy

VADODARA: Controversy erupted in Raopura police station on Monday when cops arrested youths of city-based Sardar Patel Group for trying to hang the effigy of terrorist Ajmal Kasab. Members of the group had gathered at Amdavadi Pol in Old City area and were planning to hang Kasab's effigy in full public view. 

It was the group members' message to the authorities to hang Kasab as early as possible. (TOI)
